I said, “Well, I guess we could
start playing darts again.” She
said, “Well that’s better than
that stupid video game.” I told
her, “Taylor are you sure about
this? You know I will be trading
one addition for another! You
know if I start playing darts
again what it will be like.” But
we started playing and that’s
how it is. I can’t get enough of
it.
Pacer: It sounds like you are
the type of person who gives
100% to whatever you choose to
do. It had to be a good feeling
to know all that hard work paid
off. That was one hell of a regional you had in Knoxville.
Aurlin: It was a good weekend. It was a lot of fun. The
BullShooter Regionals are everything I heard they were.
One amusing story was that
my wife got so nervous watching me play in the Men’s Singles
final, that she actually had to
leave the dart room.
Aurlin and Gregory teamed up with Tabitha
Foster in Mixed Triples at the Tennessee
Regional and won the championship.
Pacer: I’ll tell you, sometimes
rooting can be more gut wrenching than actually playing. In
fact darts can just plain be a
very exciting spectator sport.
Aurlin: I agree. In fact every
tournament is like a big family reunion. Old friends, new
friends, good darts, bad darts
a tournament has a little of everything.
Pacer: Well, let’s see, at the
Knoxville Regional you took a
1st in the Cricket Singles, a 1st
in the Cricket Doubles and 501
Doubles, with Gregory Fields,
and a 1st in Mixed Trips with
Greg and Tabitah Foster. I
don’t think you had too many
bad darts that weekend (both
laughing).
Aurlin: It really was a good
tournament. I don’t think Greg
and I shot below a 5.0 in the
Cricket Doubles and in the 501
I froze him one game and came
back with a perfect 10 darter
the next game.
Pacer: I’ll tell you, when you
are throwing like that, you have
a chance to beat anyone. You
don’t have to be scared of anyone.
Aurlin: It was a lot of fun. I
have to thank Greg and Tabitha
for being great partners, and
my wife, Taylor, for letting me
go (both laughing).
Pacer: I get the feeling that
darts are going to be a part of
your life for a long time.
Aurlin: I really am addicted
to the game. Once I get that
masters degree, maybe I’ll be
able to travel more. I plan on

keeping my game sharp and
seeing what happens. So far it
has been great, and hopefully it
will only get better.
Pacer: It had to take courage to return to school after all
those years. Aurlin strickes me
as a person who knows what
he wants, and does everything
he can to get it, whether it is in
a class room or a BullShooter
Regional!
