It is a Pioneer League and I am
throwing out of Bellvue Vet’s.
The other leagues will kick back
in and if I’m not traveling, I try
to play local tournaments on the
weekends.
Pacer: I’d say you’re still pay-
ing those dues.
George: (Laughing) Yeah, I guess
I am.
Pacer: George, we talked about
the great weekend you had in
St. Louis, now let’s talk about
a couple of great Regionals
you had in 2019. In Ohio, you
took a first place in the Men’s
Doubles with Ben Beltz, a first
place in Pro/Am Cricket with
Cary Thaxton, a 3rd in Mixed
Cricket with Marie Azbill and
a 5/6th in Mixed Triples with
Marie and Cary.
At the Indiana Regional, you
won the Pro Men’s Doubles with
Brandon Smith and took 2nd
in Pro/Am Cricket with Jason
Wright. That’s a couple pret-
ty good Regionals.
George: I played pretty good.
Of course I always feel like I
could have made a few more
good shots. In electronics I’m
considered a AA Pro, so now
I’m trying to work out my vaca-
tion time so I can compete at
BullShooter 35 in Chicago. I
hope I can work it out.
Pacer: It seems like the
competition in this game
just keeps getting stronger
and stronger. Almost all of
the top players are active
in both Steel Tip and Soft
Tipped competition now, and
it seems like great players
are popping up all over the
place.
George: Tom, I got into a tour-
nament and drew a young guy I
had never seen before. We were
talking while we were warming
up and he told me he had only
been playing a few months and
it was a real pleasure to shoot
against me. I was almost feeling
sorry for the kid and then the
match starts and he is really
filling up the board. I had to
really regroup mentally. You
just can’t take any matches for
granted anymore. The competi-
tion is really fierce.
Pacer: If you could see into
the dart future, what would
you like to see in your crys-
tal ball?
George: I’m competing on

the Champion’s Dart Circuit and
would someday like to be in the
PDC. I want to stay competitive
and hopefully take advantage
of the future opportunities that
become available for dart players.
Pacer: I really do believe this
is an exciting time to be a
dart player. The CDC and PDC
are providing excitement and
competition in steel darts and
now that the Beall Family
has resumed ownership of
Arachnid, the company that
literally created the soft-tipped
game, I think there will be great
opportunities for all darters.
George, it’s been great talking
to you, is there anything that
you would like to mention?
George: Yes sir, I would just like
to say how much I enjoy the com-
petition and the people that are
a part of the game. If I get young
players who want some advice or
help, I try my best to help them.
That’s what the game is all about.
Really, I want to compete against
the best so I have a chance to be
the best.
Pacer: That about says it all.
George is sponsored by ‘Brake
for Darts’, out of Chicago. They
produce his signature darts,
‘Lights Out’. He jokingly told me
if I’m playing against you and I
throw them right, I’ll make the
lights go out.
