more. It seems like every tournament you play in, you leave with a few more friends. The next time you see them they are old friends. There are so many great people, and a very few not so great ones that you learn how to either avoid or ignore( both laughing). When I got into the game, Roger Carter was not only an amazing dart player, but a class act. Now he and his wife are running Papa T’ s in Montgomery, Alabama. Pacer: Oh wow, I bet that will be one hell of a dart bar. Trint: I think it could be a monster. It’ s a big place and Roger knows the game and the players as well as anyone. He has eight or nine Arachnid electronic boards, and six or seven steel boards. I think the sky is the limit! The bad part is that it means starting next week I will be traveling 90 miles each way to Montgomery on Thursday night to play league, but it will be worth it! Pacer: Driving 180 miles to play in a dart league, you’ ve got to love playing the game to do that. Speaking of playing the game, you had yourself quite a weekend at the Tennessee Regional recently. Trint: Yeah, they were flying pretty good. I made the finals in four events and won three of them. It’ s really great to have a weekend like that. But I didn’ t get a chance to compete in the Pro Singles, because the guy I partnered up with over the weekend lost his father on Sunday morning. We had to figure a way to get him home as soon as possible. Later that day I shot the Mixed with Beth, and I think we did great considering the circumstances. Pacer: Trint, you not only got started playing at a young age, you also got an early start on the business side of the game. Trint: After high school, I went to work for Jim Boan at Atlanta Darts. It gave me the opportunity to do a lot of travelling and to literally meet thousands of dart players. Sometimes I would combine business and pleasure and get to do a little competing as well. One year about 2003 or so, Atlanta Darts worked the BullShooter and I took a top four in the Top Gun. I did well in some of the other competitions years ago and all and all it has been a heck of a ride. I hope it’ s not over. Except when I took a break for a few years to go to school and get a real job, darts has been a part of my life and I have done my share of winning, met my wife, made a ton of friends, what else can I say? Pacer: That really does about say it all. I would like to say something to Cosmo Darts and Dart Thugz who sponsor Trint. If I were you, I would be just as proud of the fact that Trint felt that helping a friend cope with a family tragedy was more important than competing in the Pro Singles event at the Tennessee Regional, as of the three championships he won over the weekend. It should feel good to know that you are sponsoring someone with both skill and character!
