If this darter were in the sky, he would be one of the brightest stars. He
would definitely be burning bright because he has of late, just plain been
on fire. Let’s talk with Dan Burk.
Dan lives in Battle Creek, Michigan with his twelve year old son, Brody.
When I first contacted Dan, he was pursuing his other passion, coaching
his sons traveling baseball team.
Dan Burk
Pacer: Dan, travel baseball has
grown leaps and bounds ths
past few years. Just how do you
manage your blossoming dart
career and still manage a trav-
eling team?
Dan: Sometimes, I wonder myself.
It really wouldn’t be possible if I
wasn’t passionate about both games.
I love competing in darts, but I also
love being able to coach my son
and the other players. I really feel
blessed to have the opportunity to
do both. I probably spend twenty
hours a week on and off the field
doing scheduling, travel plans and
really anything that has to get done.
Pacer: Tell me, do the boys
have any idea what their coach
accomplished over Memorial
At the BullShooter 34 Finals in Chicago, Dan
teamed up with Steve Hilger and won 1st place
in Pro Cricket Doubles.

BULLSHOOTER
Day weekend?
Dan: Oh yeah, they were really
excited that I won two World
Championships, and now every
one of them wants a copy of the
BullShooter Magazine. I’ll have to
figure out a way to get that done
(Both Laughing)
Pacer: That must be a great feel-
ing to have your team so proud
of you. I wouldn’t be surprised if
you’re going to end up producing
some elite throwers from that
group of athletes.
Dan: You could be right, Brody has
a board, and if the day comes that
we can compete together, it would be
fantastic!
Pacer: I understand Brody is
one heck of a first baseman.
Dan: I’m really proud of him. He
was a member of the Midwest All
Star Team, and he was also chosen
for the Gatorade All Star Team.
Pacer: Wow, it sounds like his
future is bright, but right now I
would have to say that a fellow
named Dan Burk, is making a big
splash in the dart world. I know
you have had success in State
and Regional Tournaments the
last few years.
You have also competed in the
highly competitive CDC circuit,
and even competed for Team
USA in Spain last year but,
I think your performance at
BullShooter XXXIV definitely
told everyone Dan Burk is a
player to be reckoned with.
Dan: Everything is going well,
really well.
At the Wisconsin Regional in September,
Dan and Kaylee Kuchinski captured
1st in Mixed Cricket.
Pacer: What an understate-
ment. I’d say walking away
with two World Championships
deserves a few ‘greats’ or even
‘outstandings.’
Dan: (Laughing) Steve Hilger and
I took a first place in Pro Doubles,
and then I won Pro Singles. I’ll tell
you that small board is quite a chal-
lenge. It is actually a little smaller
than an actual steel board and you
are also playing from eight feet
instead of the closer steel line.
Pacer: You know, I never gave
any thought to the eight foot
line, that really makes the 13
inch board a challenge.
Dan: Besides fighting those little
doubles, I lost my second match so
you know what that means.
Pacer: That means, you have to
shoot a lot of those doubles in
the loser’s bracket.
Dan: I really did. I don’t know how
many matches I played, but it was a
bunch. I remember that I had a lot
of matches that came down to the
third game, and it was hard not to
let your nerves get the best of you
