Junior Darters Have Fun Filled
Weekend at NDA Tournament
The AMOA-NDA (National Dart
Association) held its second annual
Junior Tournament in Bloomington,
MN, June 19-21, 2015.
Seventeen NDA operators sent 138
players to the tournament, all competing for great prizes and showcasing
their love of electronic soft-tip darting.
Only the second year for the event,
the tournament boasted successful 270 event entry certificates.
Participants traveled from seven
states: Iowa, Illinois, Michigan,
Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota
and Wisconsin, representing a variety
of ages and skills. From the youngest
to the oldest, it was clear that these
players were excited to be playing the
sport they loved!
Tournament events featured Singles
Cricket, Singles ‘01, Doubles Cricket,
Mixed Triples Combo and Doubles
‘01. Mixed Triples Combo provided
fun for the whole family by allowing
a NDA-sanctioned adult player to join
in on the competition.
“Having attended both years of the
NDA Junior Tournament and seeing my own kids enjoy the game, it is
great to know we are offering an opportunity for the next generation of
darters to grow and compete,” said
NDA President Alvin Gerlach. “Darts
teaches kids so many important life
values: sportsmanship, teamwork,
comradery. I hope as we offer this
tournament in the years to come we
see it continue to grow as more and
more kids take up the sport.”
Through this new tournament,
Junior Leagues are on a rise. Many
operators expanded their league offerings to get players qualified. Junior
Tournament participants must be a
NDA-sanctioned player and are required to have played a minimum of
48 league games within the qualifying period.
