Food Drive Bring non-perishable food items to Church this weekend , March 18 / 19 . The food is distributed to the poor through Our Lady of Divine Providence Church , Metairie .
High School Youth Activity
This Sunday , March 19 , after 6:00 pm Mass till 8:30 - Those performing in the Stations of the Cross will practice during the first half of the time . Those not performing will hang out and try the their hands at Wii competitions .

The Paschal Candle The Paschal Candle is lit when we gather around the fire outside church at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday Night , and is then placed near the altar all through the Easter season . It is again placed by the altar through the month of November when we commemorate our beloved faithful departed , and it is lit at all baptisms , weddings and funerals .
Its estimated cost is two hundred dollars . If you would like to cover its full or partial cost , please call the Church Office , ( 504 ) 887-5535 . The Pascal Candle may be dedicated to the memory of a loved one or , in thanksgiving for favors received .

Fr . Vincent Fortunato O . F . M . Cap . is a priest with the Capuchin Franciscan Friars . He served his community for 20 years in Formation Ministry and as Provincial Minister for 6 years . He has an M . Div . degree from Darlington Seminary and a MA degree in Spirituality from Creighton University . He has certifications in Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats . He is a presenter of spiritual direction for groups and training programs . He also is a preacher for parish missions and retreats .
Lenten Evenings of Confession
On Wednesdays , March 22 , 29 , and April 5 , all area Catholic Church Parishes will offer the Sacrament of Penance from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM . All are encouraged and welcome to come and experience God ’ s mercy and forgiveness through this Holy Sacrament on one of these Wednesdays or at another time during this Lenten Season . ACCESS BABY BOTTLE FUNDRAISER
ACCESS Pregnancy and Referral Center , a program of Catholic Charities , provides help to abortion-vulnerable women experiencing unplanned pregnancies . ACCESS not only provides free pregnancy tests , counseling , limited ultrasounds , and referrals , but also prenatal , nutrition and parenting classes . Please help fund these services by participating in the Baby Bottle Fundraiser . Next weekend , March 25 / 26 , you will be asked to take home a baby bottle , fill it with cash or check , and return to church the following week end , April 1 / 2 . All money collected will go directly to ACCESS .
Second Collection- Catholic Relief Services
March 26 , 2017 , our parish will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection ( CRSC ). Funds from this collection help provide food to the hungry , support to displaced refugees , and Christ ’ s love and respect to all people here at home and abroad .
