Two Second Collections next Weekend , February 18-19 , 2017 Due to an oversight by the Archdiocese there are two collections scheduled for the weekend of February 18-19 , 2017 . One is for the Clarion Herald ($ 20.00 annual contribution ) and the other is for the Pastoral Solidarity Fund for Africa . If you wish to contribute to one or both , please make your check payable to St . Philip Neri Church and place either envelope in the 2 nd Collection .

REQUEST FOR LITURGICAL MINISTERIES
We are in need of Liturgical Ministers , particularly Ministers of Hospitality , Eucharistic Ministers , Lectors and Choir Members . Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors are required to attend an Archdiocesan Workshop . Ministers of Hospitality will be given an orientation before they assume their ministry . Prospective Choir Members ’ names will be passed along to our Director of Music . You are asked to give prayerful consideration to committing to just one of these ministries . Interested persons may call the Parish Office ( 887-5535 ) or fill out the yellow sheet at the back of church and hand it to one of our priests or deacons .

World Day of the Sick , Saturday , February 11 th
February 11 is World Day of the Sick , an observation started by Pope John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses . The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes . People around the world take the time to pray for the sick and for those who work very hard to alleviate the sufferings of the sick on this day . Faith organizations mark this day especially to provide the sick with medicines , food , and spiritual guidance .
