Telecare and Assistive Technology Awareness

Target Audience
This event is available for all members of the Walsall Adult Social Care workforce.
The session will provide an introduction to Telecare and Assistive Technology and will cover the
function and application of telecare devices, the contribution to assessment and support
planning and the role and purpose of Telecare in relation to independence and risk.
Learning Outcomes
Gain an understanding of what Telecare and Assistive technology means
Be aware of what types of telecare equipment are available and understand how they work
Have taken a tour around a house to see how telecare equipment is used practically
Be aware of the community alarms service
