ITM 342 E-Business for Tourism Industry (3 credits) Prerequisite: Passed IIT 202 or Dean’s Approval This course explore different types of E-commerce business models and concepts as well as the required technology infrastructure, how to build locks for an e-commerce website, online security and payment systems. Furthermore, the course will cover e-commerce concepts, ethical social and political issues, online retail and services, managing online content and media through social networks, auctions, and portals, the impact on tourism, information distribution and future evolvement of tourism in e-commerce. ITM 345 Entrepreneurship for Tourism Business (3 credits) 2) Creative MICE Management Track ITM 346 Introduction to MICE (3 credits) (3 credits) Prerequisite: Passed ITM 225 or Dean’s Approval A study of roles, types, and characteristics of entrepreneurship including business planning, analysis, and business environment evaluation for both internal and external aspects along with pathway and opportunities to become an entrepreneur in tourism business. This course includes field trips. ITM 343 Creative Tourism (3 credits) Prerequisite: Passed ITM 121 or Dean’s Approval Through case studies and field trips, this course explores the meaning, concepts, and forms of creativity in tourism as a value adding element of the tourism business. This course aims to provide an introduction to meaning, importance, characteristics, forms, and differences of meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE) businesses. Students also learn about the organizations relating to MICE business along with growing trends of the industry. This course includes field trips. ITM 344 New Product Development in Tourism (3 credits) ITM 347 Venue Management for MICE Prerequisite: Passed ITM 225 or Dean’s Approval This course explores market demands and trends as well as the business environment in order to identify the market opportunities for new products or for business devel- opment in response to market needs. Market surveys and new product presentations for the tourism industry are also studied. Prerequisite: Passed ITM 122 or Dean’s Approval This course provides the criteria for venue selection, planning, budgeting, coordinating, and preparing the venue in response to types of market target and meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE) activities.
