Low headroom discharger
A
new Bulk-Out low profile discharger from Flexicon
positions IBCs weighing up to 1,450 kg in the frame using
an electric hoist and trolley, discharges bulk solid materials
into a surge hopper and conveys the material to a
downstream process dust-free.
Lifting arms fitted with four eye hooks connect to the mobile IBC
frame, which is equipped with four inverted cradle cups that mate
with corresponding posts on the discharger frame for precise
positioning of the IBC outlet.
When lowered into position, the tapered outlet of the IBC’s
butterfly discharge valve mates with a gasketed receiving ring on the
lid of a surge hopper, allowing opening of the valve and discharging
of material with no dusting.
The surge hopper is available with an integral flexible screw
conveyor, tubular cable conveyor or pneumatic conveying system
also produced by the company.
The purpose-built stainless steel IBC hopper frame measures
914mm square by 965mm high and includes two swivel and two
rigid castors with brakes. Quick-release clamps secure the hinged
hopper lid during transport and discharge of material.
A port on the lid of the surge hopper is vented to a Bag-Vac dust
collector that puts the sealed system under negative pressure,
preventing displaced air and dust from entering the plant

Time Mauser
T
ime Mauser Industries has opened its second production
site for tight head international standard steel drums
and open head steel drums at its new state-of-the-art
production facility in Jambusar, India.
Increased customer demand for high quality steel drums in India
prompted Time Mauser, a joint venture between Time Technoplast
and Mauser Group, to expand capacity. The new site at Jambusar
is in the state of Gujarat, India’s fastest growing industrial area.
The site is situated 60 km away from the Dahej Investment
Region, supported by good infrastructure and a prime destination
for several leading petroleum, chemical and petrochemical
manufacturers.
“The new site is a logical extension of our footprint in India and
another milestone in our co-operation with Time Technoplast. We
are excited to participate in the fast growing Indian economy
together with a strong and reliable partner,” said Hans Peter
Schäfer, Mauser CEO.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Jain, founder of Time
Technoplast Limited, said: “We are proud of our association with
Mauser Group which has inspired us to bring the latest industrial
packaging products into the region. Our second production site
for steel drums in India is an extension of our joint venture
operations and contributes to establish us firmly as a ‘one-stop-
shop’ for our customers. We aim to bring world class steel drums
to India for domestic and export packaging.”
The new site will complement the packaging products offered by
Time Mauser to Indian customers from the metal drum
manufacturing plant at Pen, Maharashtra.
Stefan Wiedenhöfer, regional head of Mauser in Asia said the
site was executed after a little more than 15 months, from the
initial planning to
