avila company EcoChemPlus-Togliatti has officially opened its cleaning
and repair depot for tank containers and trucks in the Industrial Park
Togliattisintez, Togliatti, Samara region, Russia.
The depot provides a full range of services including cleaning of more than 40 types
of chemical and food products, repair, maintenance, periodical testing and storage.
Treatment of tanks is carried out on examination of the properties of previously
loaded cargoes with hot or cold water, using detergents and if necessary steaming at
a temperature of 140degC. The depot issues the European Cleaning Document
(ECD).
The company says the depot also carries environmental benefits, such as a more
rational use of natural and energy resources due to optimal water consumption in
contrast with the direct steam injection method widely used in Russia.
Havila’s aim is to develop a network of modern depots in Russia that meet
European quality standards, as well optimising logistics by minimizing empty runs.
“We are developing a network of modern depots for cleaning and repair of tank-
containers in Russia. The first depot was successfully opened in 2014 in Tambov, and
the second in Togliatti,” said Igor Lepetukhin, a Havila board member.
“The choice of the Industrial Park was due to the attractive location of the M5
highway along which large chemical industry hubs are sited.”

lfa Laval says its TJ40G Rotary Jet Head tank-cleaning machine gets rid
of residues while reducing cycle times and costs for energy, water and
cleaning agents.
The latest innovation within the company’s tank cleaning portfolio, the TJ40G is
suitable for critical hygienic applications in the food, dairy, beverage,
pharmaceutical, home and personal care industries.
It complements the firm’s TJ20G. Both offer the same cleanability, product
quality, and significant savings on energy, water and cleaning agents due to faster,
more effective cleaning than comparable technologies. However, the TJ40G easily
handles large tanks with capacities between 50 and more than 500 cbm while the
TJ20G handles small tanks of 15 and 150 cbm.
Like the TJ20G, the TJ40G uses a high-impact jet stream to clean tough tank
residues and minimise the risk of product contamination. This four-nozzle rotary jet
head also cleans tanks 60 percent faster than static spray ball technology, which
increases production uptime. And because it cleans faster, the TJ40G uses less water
and fewer cleaning agents thereby reducing operating costs
