Tank Containers March/April 2016 Langh spill tank on display L angh Cargo Solutions used the Intermodal Asia exhibition in Shanghai to display its recently introduced Spill Tank Container. The Finnish group says the 40ft unit is designed for the demanding Nordic climate. It has a removable hard top roof, which guarantees that the tank stays clear of rainwater, snow and other dirt and is thus always ready for service. High chromium ferritic stainless steel, Outokumpu Core 4622, gives high corrosion resistance and maximises the lifetime of the container. “Built from ferritic stainless steel and also having a roof, the Spill Tank Container is the first of its kind built specifically for Nordic conditions,” says Markku Yli-Kahri, product manager for Langh Cargo Solutions. The company added that the stainless steel used has an environmental value as it is made from recycled raw materials and once the spill tank reaches the end of its life cycle, it can be 100 percent recycled. www.langhcargosolutions.fi Langh says the 40ft unit is designed for the demanding Nordic climate 11 BULKDISTRIBUTOR Singh to lead CS Leasing expansion F ormer Fort Vale sales and marketing director Kevin Singh has joined CS Leasing as vice president - Europe to oversee its expansion into European and African markets. CS Leasing (CARU Specialized Leasing) was formed in September last year by Dutch container leasing company CARU and investment firm Transportation Capital Group. The new company focuses on leasing ‘noncommoditised’ containers requiring greater product expertise and high service levels. Singh joins the company after 10 years at Fort Vale, where he rose to become a board member. A statement from the lessor welcomed Singh’s extensive contacts in the tank container industry, “in-depth experience of the current manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of the issues that operators and logistics providers are facing”. “Kevin’s extensive network and business knowledge will make a valuable contribution to our business,” said Tim May, part of the management team at CS Leasing. “His strong commercial and operational expertise, combined with his experience in managing overseas expansion, was extremely attractive for us.” Singh himself said he was delighted to be joining the firm. “I have known the management team here for a long time and I was attracted to their commitment to provide world class, flexible and customer-oriented service. This is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to creating a customer-focused leasing company,” he commented. His primary role will be to focus on creating the necessary infrastructure to oversee growth in Europe and Africa. The decision to expand builds on the positive reception CS Leasing has received in the market since it was launched. www.cslintermodal.com Mobile refuelling for fire brigade M obile refuelling for helicopters and vehicles is now available to the Lower Austria Fire Brigade following the delivery of two 5,500 litre joint fuel systems built by WEW. Following extensive assessment and referrals from other WEW users, including the Austrian Army, the Lower Austria Fire Service Association placed a contract with WEW to provide two systems, both of which have now been delivered and were demonstrated during KAT 15, the Fire Services Association open day. The autonomous systems are fitted with their own generator and a dual pump system. These are able to transport both diesel for the vehicles and Jet A1 for the helicopters. The dual pump units are able to dispense from 10 litres a minute up to 150 litres a minute depending on the refuelling task. The tanks have a hook lift bail bar fitted to the ISO frame to enable the units to be transported by a hook-arm fitted vehicle. This allows the tank to be transported to wherever it is required, be unloaded, without any additional lifting equipment, and within minutes be dispensing fuel while the vehicle is able to move off and carry out another task. This capability makes the tanks fully ‘drop & go’, said WEW. “Our ‘drop & go’ solutions are designed to get fuel to wherever it is needed as quick ǒ2
