Anyway Doors with unique 360°
pivoting hinge wins design awards

High-tech hinge makes a heavy door swing as light as a feather and can be customised.
AZ Awards named it “best architectural product” for 2016.
ANYWAY DOORS, a company based in
Belgium came up with the idea for a door
that can swing 360° like a carousel on a
central pivoting hinge. Their design can be
customised and fitted to any pivoting door
or wall.
The idea was so innovative that the judges
at the 6th annual AZ Awards named it “best

architectural product” for 2016. The idea also
picked up a Red Dot award for best product
design last year, among other awards.
Anyway Doors’ design revolves around an
‘invisible’ pivoting hinge that is integrated into
the door panel without the need for visible
floor fixtures. The compact hinge features
a high-tech comfort closure which works

in both swing directions, allowing doors to
revolve up to 360°. The company claims that
the hinge can make doors as heavy as 150kg
feel as light as a feather.
The pivot doors are designed to close
quietly by means of a patented locking
technology integrated in the door as well as
in the minimalist frame. The male (convex)
part consists of a synthetic profile on the door
leaf; the synthetic fitting in the door frame
is the female (concave) part. Every Anyway
door can therefore be set at an opening of 90°,
or 180°/360°. Even with doors swinging at
180°/360°, this guarantees perfect closure and
positioning. The invisible built-in ventilation
is also provided as standard with full doors
and glass-framed doors.
Anyway Doors has been studying the
characteristics of modern doors since 1995.
Not only are doors the most used element in
a residential construction, they also cover a
fair percentage of the wall surface area. From
