Products & Services • • STAAD.Pro to provide a fast and accurate solution for meeting project requirements, i.e., quality design within the scheduled timeframe and minimum budget. STAAD.Pro’s collaborative environment for document sharing, review, comment (e.g., modification in pipe bridge, steel material take-off, vibration checks, and so on) also helped to reduce project delivery time and cost. As an innovation in water network analysis, the Malang project was cited, where utility provider PDAM Malang was experiencing water loss due to leakage in their piping system. Bentley’s WaterGEMS was used to detect and repair leaks, stabilise water pressure and, in consequence, reduce operating costs through hydraulic modelling using data logger, flow meter and GPRS data. WaterGEMS also enabled simulation of customer usage patterns and the conditions in corroded distribution pipes, a process much more expedient than manually. Within its engineering and maintenance department, technology services provider PT. FKA Global, Jakarta reduced maintenance costs by 12% by developing a collaborative data-sharing network. Aside from eliminating departmental data silos, it bolstered reliability of customer service data and provided better fibre and coax network visibility. Software used included Bentley Coax, Isometric view 1. Isometric view 2. • Bentley Expert Designer Communications, Bentley Fiber, Bentley Geo Web Publisher, Bentley Inside Plant, Bentley Map, and MicroStation, to streamline data communications network and accommodate its many data formats. As an innovation in utilities and communication, the system allowed for, along with reduced maintenance costs, better-managed workflows and licence usage. As part of a USD 100 million undertaking by Chevron Indonesia, the Bangka deep-water gas field located offshore of East Kalimantan is being developed into a two-well subsea production that is to be connected to the West Seno FPU by a flow-line and umbilical. To create an ‘as-built’ 3D model of the unit to simulate and facilitate design modifications, ZEE Engineering used Bentley’s MOSES software. It is a cost-effective strategy that allows for all future modification works, if any, to be less costly. New from Bentley Also, it was opportune, at the Jakarta event, to inform all and sundry on enhancements to Bentley’s existing software including release of new ConstructSim products, i.e., ConstructSim Planner, that simplifies the advanced work packaging process using a virtual construction model, while ConstructSim Work Package Server combines real-time construction information with automated work packaging to increase project visibility, improve productivity, and reduce costs. In advancing reality modelling capabilities, Bentley has acquired LumenRT for “visual optioneering,” with real-time, immersive interaction, enlivening infrastructure environments with rich libraries of dynamic content. Last, but not least, is Bentley’s acquisition of AssetWise Amulet, for industrial-scale predictive and prescriptive analytics that advances Bentley’s existing AssetWise solution from reliability-centered maintenance and risk-based inspection to asset performance modelling. ■ Innovation in utilities and Communication. 44 Building&&Investment Investment| |www.b-i.biz www.b-i.biz 6 Building More information at www.bentley.com/BIM
