Bentley Systems: Advancing Infrastructure
CONNECT Edition unveiled @ Jakarta to an audience of more than 200 building
professionals from various disciplines.

Lumpur, it is always an event when
Bentley Systems comes to town and the
recent Jakarta jaunt on 27 April 2016 is no
exception. Bentley, a leading global provider
of comprehensive software solutions
for advancing infrastructure, was in the
Indonesian capital to tell attendees of the
CONNECTION event all about CONNECT
Edition, Bentley Systems’ common
environment that comprehensively supports
on-time delivery of infrastructure projects
and unifies work across the entire project
eco-system and over the full lifecycle of
the project – a “purposefully-connected
environment” to improve the performance
of projects and assets with reduced risks and
on budget.
To an audience of more than 200
building professionals – from disciplines
of design, construction and operations –
the day-long agenda, themed “Advancing
Infrastructure,” also included a keynote
presentation on four innovative projects in
Indonesia that were nominated (by Bentley
Systems users worldwide) to vie for Bentley’s
Be Inspired Awards, an annual programme

that recognises outstanding achievements
in applying technology in infrastructure
development and advancement.
About CONNECT Edition
The CONNECT Edition comprises a
comprehensive modelling environment,
connected
performance
environment,
and common data environment, while
embracing the Microsoft Azure cloud service,
and supporting a hybrid environment
that includes on-premise servers, desktop
applications, and mobile apps. In serving to
advance projects, it is a new user experience
that, through cloud services, connects and
shares information securely with all project
participants and stakeholders anytime and
anywhere.
Unveiled in 2013, the CONNECT
Edition is BIM Level 3 information
modelling that facilitates “reaction,” enabling
real-time decisions for best performance
and the infrastructure asset to operate with
“intelligence.”
As explained by Mr Kaushik Chakraborty,
VP & Regional Executive, Asia South, Bentley
Systems, the CONNECT Edition allows

“organisations and enterprises, including
the supply chain beyond your organisational
firewalls, to connect their projects to a greater
degree than was ever possible.” In building
infrastructure, it is critical, he elaborated, to
