In addition, BCCK provides supporting
service areas including reception and prefunction assembly areas, a VIP lounge,
administration offices, commercial kitchens
capable of servicing 2,000 delegates and a
public restaurant.
Incorporated with the best of modern
communication technology of the time, the
centre is equipped with wireless internet access
in public areas and provide simultaneous
translation facilities in four languages.
The core functional considerations of
BCCK are flexible multi-function rooms
and energy efficiency. This allows the centre
to adapt to various user needs while being
sensitive to nature and the environment.
The design elements implemented to
respond to functional requirements include:
advanced traffic circulation and parking

studies; design of dense vegetation to cool
ambient surface temperature of external
carparks and driveways; extensive sun angle
studies and modeling to minimise direct
sunlight penetration on the 3,400-squaremetre curtain wall; expansion/spill-over space
considerations (eg five-metre ceiling height
for carparks at Level 1 to allow for additional
exhibition space & roof cavity space for
additional storage areas); acoustic testing
