One of the greatest benefits of being an EPAB member is that you are also a member of the Texas Association of Builders( TAB). This gives you access to outstanding educational programs, leadership opportunities, networking events, and industry advocacy throughout the year. One of the best opportunities to experience these benefits is by attending the TAB Summer Committee and Board of Directors Meetings and the Sunbelt Builders Show, taking place July 21 – 24 in San Antonio.
If you were unable to attend the International Builders ' Show earlier this year, the Sunbelt Builders Show is the next best opportunity to experience the latest products, technologies, and innovations shaping the residential construction industry. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this

year, the show features hundreds of exhibitors displaying new building products, materials, equipment, and business solutions designed to help builders operate more efficiently and deliver greater value to their customers. It is also an outstanding opportunity to meet manufacturers and suppliers, ask questions, compare products, and discover new ideas that you can immediately implement in your business.
While the trade show is an outstanding reason to attend, I strongly encourage our members to take advantage of the TAB Summer Committee and Board of Directors meetings as well. These meetings are where much of the important work of our state association takes place. Committee members discuss issues affecting our industry, including government relations, workforce development, codes and standards, contracts, HOMEPAC, Professional Women in Building, finance, and association planning before recommendations are presented to the TAB Board of Directors. Attending these meetings provides valuable insight into the legislative, regulatory, and business issues affecting homebuilding throughout Texas while offering members an opportunity to learn from industry leaders and become more involved in our association.

Many members are surprised to learn that every EPAB member is welcome to attend any TAB committee meeting and the TAB Board of Directors meeting. You do not have to be a committee member or director to attend. Observing these meetings is one of the best ways to gain a deeper understanding of how TAB advocates on behalf of builders across Texas and to discover opportunities to become involved in future leadership positions.
The Sunbelt Builders Show is also one of TAB ' s largest annual revenueproducing events. Revenue generated from the show helps fund the many programs and services TAB provides, including legislative advocacy, legal and regulatory representation, workforce development initiatives, member education, and support for local home builders associations across Texas. Simply by attending the show, you are helping support the organization that works every day to protect and strengthen our industry.
In addition to the show and committee meetings, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in several special events, including Big Time on the Riverwalk, benefiting HOMEPAC and the Texas Builders Foundation, and the prestigious Star Awards, recognizing excellence in residential construction throughout Texas.

Registration is now open for both the Sunbelt Builders Show and the TAB Summer Meetings. I encourage you to visit the Texas Association of Builders website at www. texasbuilders. org to register and review the complete schedule of events.
If you plan to attend, please call or email the EPAB office so we can keep track of our local attendees. We would love to coordinate opportunities for our EPAB members to connect throughout the week.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year ' s Summer Meetings and Sunbelt Builders Show as my husband and I will be eagerly awaiting the birth of our first grandchild. While I will certainly miss seeing many of you in San Antonio, our Vice President, Edgar Garcia, along with several of our EPAB officers and board members, will be attending and look forward to connecting with you throughout the week. I hope we will have a strong representation from El Paso this year. The knowledge you gain, the relationships you build, and the insight you receive into our industry are well worth the trip. The stronger our participation at the state level, the stronger our voice becomes. I encourage you to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity and represent EPAB proudly in San Antonio.
