STEP 4 :
Push your wooden stick through the little hole in the middle of your disc . Slide the disc to the middle point of the stick . You can attach sticky tack either side of the disc to make sure the disc stands up straight and doesn ’ t flop to either side .
STEP 5 :
Using cardboard , make two identical triangular structures to support the mechanism ( see picture for example ).
Side A : Each triangle must have a vertically-standing side , 50 cm high and 30 cm wide . Make a little hole in the middle , 25 cm up and 15 cm across , for the wooden stick to pass through .
STEP 6 :
Place your baking tray below the disc , then fill it with six parts water to one part washing-up liquid , trying not to create bubbles or foam as you stir . The pipe cleaner hoops should be submerged in the solution . You might need to make some adjustments to make sure the tray fits , or so that the disc is at the right height . It ’ ll be worth it in the end !
STEP 7 :
When all this is ready , you can turn the wooden stick and watch the hoops dip into the soapy water . As they come out , blow through the hoops and watch the bubbles shoot out !
Side B : The base of the triangle should be around 30 cm long and 30 cm wide .
Side C : The final side should be around 60 cm long and 30 cm wide . Make a tiny hole in the middle of this too , 30 cm up and 15 cm across .
You can either fold or tape these sides together . Put some books in the base of each triangle , below the holes you ’ ve made for the stick . These will help them to stand up straight . When the triangle is ready , feed the wooden stick through the two holes . Do the same with the second triangular structure , so the disc can be suspended in the middle !!
