Hwa Rang Do ®: a Martial Art
and a Movement of Thought
and Action
Hwa Rang Do ® (literally "the way of the
young knights") is a traditional Korean Martial
Art whose roots are lost in the 3 kingdoms that
formed the current Korea to about 2,000 years ago. With
precision, in the ancient Korean kingdom "Silla" where the
"Hwarang" (literally "young riders") were prepared for war through
a dual preparation: (1) culturally: moral philosophy, ethics, music,
strategy, math and literature; and (2) martially: armed and unarmed
combat on all kinds of terrain and on horseback.
