EMBRACE THE MYSTERY
by Caris Roane
As ruler of his realm, Master Vampire Quinlan shuns permanent relationships.
But when his lust takes him to Batya’s bedroom and an ancient fae attacks, he
launches into protector mode and finds himself embroiled -- body, soul, and
fangs -- with a woman he’d only meant to conquer then leave.
The Inside Scoop
Why I Wrote the Blood Rose Series:
Vampires fascinate…
Vampires fascinate me, their strength, heightened
abilities, aversion to sunlight, and deep, perpetual need
for the blood of others to survive. In writing the Blood
Rose Series, I tapped into the idea that paranormal
entities are essentially beings with exaggerated
qualities that we all have as humans, which for me
makes vampires relatable. And the thrill comes from
the correlation between what it is to be vampire and
what it is to be human – being strong enough to survive,
developing a variety of skills to do well in life, managing
the hard truths of existence and mortality, and being
interdependent with each other without suffocating or
abandoning the ones we love.
from the vampire world of the Nine Realms. She has no
interest in returning to her birth realm. The last thing she
wants to be is a blood rose. As for the hero, he’s never
had a long-term relationship in his entire life and now
he’s supposed to be tied to one woman forever? Neither
wants this commitment-fraught relationship, yet they
just can’t seem to stay away from each other. And the
moment she chooses to fulfill his critical need, the earth
trembles and the heavens part.
Vampires forever…
Vampires have been part of our culture for decades and
will continue to enthrall us with their fangs, strength, and
at times absolute sexiness. Let the Blood Rose Series
become a new journey for you!
Vampires use their fangs…
In the Blood Rose Series, of which EMBRACE THE
MYSTERY is the third installment, I asked the questions:
what if only one woman could take care of the chronic
blood-starvation needs of a master vampire? How would
this woman feel about being the ‘only one’ who could
end the suffering of a vampire? Would she despise the
job or really take to it? And what of the vampire? Would
he resent that such a woman, by definition, could have
power over him? That he might crave her, sacrifice for
her, battle for her?
