Q: How do you handle these mistakes? Any own principles?
A: I think the most important thing is to never regret. It may sound obvious, but
it’s the most essential key to success. If you cling onto countless past mistakes,
it’s only you who are going to be hurt. Enjoying the job with passion and taking
an ‘alternative’ plan as it is the ‘best’ plan is what I think is an inimitable choice
to take.
Q: Forgetting all about your celebrity career, what do mistakes give to you
as a person?
A: As a woman they are things that help me perfect my life as I grow up. I
believe that everything that we do is to minimize the number of mistakes
we make. This way of life is deeply rooted inside of our lives. For instance,
reminding myself to check my bag and see if I have everything I need before
going out of my house has been part of my daily routine since I had forgotten
to bring my wallet at a place where I had to buy dinner for a large group of
Q: Then how does the meaning of ‘mistakes’ differ for you, as an actress
and as a model?
A: The difference isn’t too big—the two jobs are basically the same in a sense
that I need the talent and the personality to be able to express myself to the
unspecified public. They are both a very ‘showing’ job as well; the only difference
is the stage that I perform on. My point is, there aren’t any big differences
between the two except the fact that you can’t go back and fix the wrong turn
you made on the catwalks.
people.
Q: So you think that mistakes are vital to a successful life?
A: Absolutely! And adding on, nobody would want to make mistakes—it would
be much easier if I didn’t make any—but nobody’s perfect, and that’s why we
need to tolerate others’ as well. The worst scenario is when you can’t recognize
a mistake or be discouraged or afraid of making new choices; that’s the real,
bad mistake that you’re making.
Q: What are your future plans?
Q: American writer and philosopher Elbert Hubbard (1856 –1915) said “The
greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will
make one.” What is your opinion on this? Do you have any advice for young
people?
A: I actually don’t regret a lot about not challenging my life as much, but I
definitely advise all the young people in the world to stop feeling intimidated
by the challenges they’d face. It’s acceptable to make mistakes but not to repeat
them. Repeating the same mistakes over and over again is pointless because
you are obviously not gaining anything from your mistakes. Everyone can make
mistakes, but you need to acknowledge that and be able to advance from it.
When I look back at my own life I do think that I could’ve done things better if I’d
known the things I know now. But really, life is like the Möbius band and repeats
itself. The mistakes will come and go and there will always be occasions where
we regret things we’ve done. The important thing is to not get muddled up in
one mistake but to move on.
A: As I said at the beginning, I’m trying to give all my attention to the
happiness of my own family, and although I’m refraining from taking roles that
are too devouring, I still have my doors open for opportunities to come. And
thankfully, many directors find me to be on fresh new pieces, and I’m hoping to
take on good parts, especially characters that only I can do.
