While the BSO is a world-class orchestra , we are deeply committed to our audiences in Baltimore , North Bethesda and the entire state of Maryland . It ’ s why we program concerts inspired by the diverse identities of our audience , spanning from classical to jazz and much more ; why we welcome hometown heroes like James Lee III as our Composer in Residence ; and why we are devoted to enhancing the patron experience by partnering with local vendors and hosting a wide array of activities associated with each concert .
