2023-24 STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

1 . WELCOMING MUSIC DIRECTOR JONATHON HEYWARD
Beginning with a three-day , statewide Season Opening Gala celebration and encompassing seven classical subscription weeks inclusive of new concert formats , a new artist in residence , and ( an incoming ) composer in residence .
2 . RECOMMITTING TO STRATHMORE AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY
In addition to a season-opening Gala , we are bringing new products to Strathmore ( like BSO Fusion ) and new educational programs to more parts of Montgomery County ( including a new partnership to reach all 25 Montgomery County Public High Schools , and the launch of Music Box Concerts at the BlackRock Center for the Performing Arts ).
3 . LIVING OUR CREED
In everything we do , we deepen our commitment to the BSO ’ s shared values : Creativity , Respect , Excellence , Engagement , and Diversity .
4 . BUILDING AUDIENCES , IMPACT , AND REVENUES
Continuing free or pay-as-you-wish community-based performances like Music for Maryland , as well as embracing strategic fee-based partnerships that bring the BSO to the CFG Bank Arena ( with Andrea Bocelli ), the Baltimore Basilica ( with Catholic Charities ), and The Clarice ( as part of a new two-year , performance and education residency with the University of Maryland ).
5 . INTRODUCING LIVE AT THE MEYERHOFF
An evolution in our Hall for All strategy , rebranding the Meyerhoff as a standalone venue for non-orchestra presentations and rentals .
