ACTING ASSISTANT CONCERTMASTER
• After a few other orchestral stints ( with the Louisville Orchestra and Colorado Symphony ), Boram was proud to return to her home state of Maryland when she joined the BSO in 2015 !
• When she ’ s not performing , practicing , or rehearsing , Boram spends most of her time chasing after her 1-year-old son .
• From Boram : I love how operatic all of Mozart ’ s compositions are , but this is definitely one of my personal favorites !
JACOB SHACK
ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL VIOLA
• One of the highlights of Jacob ’ s musical career was playing with the BSO at the BBC Proms on our U . K ./ Ireland tour in 2018 . He says that having the experience alongside his family of incredible colleagues in the orchestra was unforgettable !
• Jacob is a proud uncle to three nieces , all born within sixteen months of each other !
• From Jacob : Mozart ’ s Sinfonia Concertante has always been one of my favorite pieces in the repertoire . Violinists have five beautiful Mozart concerti that they get to perform all the time , so as a violist I am very grateful that we get a small peek into what a Mozart viola concerto would have sounded like .
