VIRTUAL GOVERNING MEMBERS LOUNGE
Already making strides in its second season , the Virtual Governing Members Lounge , hosted by VP and Chief Advancement Officer Allison Burr-Livingstone , is a place for special connections and insightful conversations . Discussions with conductors , musicians , staff , and guests premiere live ( with audience Q & A ) every other Thursday evening on the BSO ’ s Facebook page , and recordings are available on demand on OffStage . Upcoming episodes feature a conversation with newly appointed BSO Artistic Advisor James Conlon ( December 3 ) and the holiday traditions of our very own BSO musicians ( December 17 ).
LUNCH BACHS
Just announced ! BSO Lunch Bachs is coming back for a second season ! Created by violists Colin Sorgi and Helen Hess , BSO Lunch Bachs provides performances by BSO musicians with fun interludes for your lunchtime break . While its first season featured the viola section exclusively , BSO Lunch Bachs now welcomes members of the entire orchestra and includes an exciting collaboration with composition students from the Peabody Institute , demonstrating the composition process in its entirety . Season 2 officially launches January 8 at 1 pm , and episodes will premiere every other Friday – but look out for a special holiday episode from the original five violists this month !
MIDWEEK CONCERTS : BGE BROADCASTS
Also now available on BSO OffStage is the first in our new all-virtual , four-program educational concert series , Midweek Concerts : BGE Broadcasts . Led by Associate Conductor Nicholas Hersh , each 30-minute episode includes introductions about the music and is accompanied by an Early Listener ’ s Guide , providing a snapshot of the concert experience and a variety of interactive activities to explore in conjunction with the performance . The first episode , “ Strings ,” is available now with additional episodes (“ Percussion ,” “ Brass ,” and “ Woodwinds ”) launching throughout the academic year .
