W ith our 2022 – 23 season in full swing , we ’ re grateful to have the opportunity to present an array of concerts and events that appeal to both longtime supporters and new patrons visiting our concert halls for the first time . This season is already off to an unforgettable start featuring collaborations with new artists who are helping to make the Meyerhoff truly a “ Hall for All ”. From our season-opening gala with Grammy-award winning artist Ledisi , to an intimate night of jazz with the Bill Charlap Trio in the Meyerhoff lobby , we could not be more thrilled to see new audiences engaging with the Baltimore Symphony while making everlasting memories .

As the calendar year draws to a close , we reflect on a time best spent with family and friends . We hope that our upcoming holiday concerts provide you with opportunities to be together with your loved ones . The holiday celebrations start off with a performance by Black Violin as a part of the band ’ s Give Thanks Tour where whimsical string melodies fuse with rhythmic beats , followed by a series of educational Midweek concerts , specially curated for students from Pre-K through middle school and beyond . Many of our holiday crowd favorites are also returning to the stage . Troupe Vertigo , a mind-blowing ensemble consisting of world-class aerial artists , contortionists , and ballet dancers , will join us for a Holiday Soirée . They will fly , twist , and turn themselves , set to lively holiday music , featuring Tchaikovsky ’ s The Nutcracker . The ever-popular tap dancing Santas will also make their return for the ultimate Holiday Spectacular . Joined by Artistic Partner Wordsmith and a few other musical guests , this festive program is a holiday must-see !
While it may go without saying , the holiday season is also reminder of the kindness of others . We are tremendously thankful for the thousands of donors who support BSO education programs , community engagement initiatives , and performances throughout the year . The positive impact on many lives , through music , is made possible because of you .
As you may already know , ticket purchases only support 35 % of the BSO ’ s annual operating costs , and donors are critical partners in creating affordable — and sometimes free — access to powerful music in our two concert homes , the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and The Music Center at Strathmore , as well as in classrooms and communities around the state of Maryland . In appreciation for your support , we are proud to offer Membership benefits that will bring you closer to the music .
