SYMPHONY FUND HONOR ROLL

MAKE AN IMPACT

In 2021 , the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra reached thousands of new audience members thanks to innovative , technology-driven initiatives that brought music into the homes and hearts of people all over the world . Giving makes it possible for the BSO to connect people to inspiring artists in the concert hall and far beyond .

For us , being over 70 , it ’ s best to financially support the BSO by taking funds from our IRAs . It reduces our taxable income and is more financially advantageous than writing a check and taking a deduction .”

— DR . JAMES & LYNNE LACALLE
AGI AT 100 %
An extension of the CARES Act made 100 % of your adjusted gross income deductible through calendar year 2021 . The limit on corporate giving was also extended to 25 % of their taxable income .
STOCK
Avoid a 20 % Capital Gains Tax on long-term appreciated stock . This simple transaction is a great way to defer taxes on market growth and is under-utilized .
QCD
A Qualified Charitable Distribution ( QCD ) allows you to defer your Required Minimum Distribution ( RMD ) from an IRA to a charity . To give up to $ 100,000 of your RMD , you must be 72 on July 2 , 2021 .
DON ' T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY !
A donation before the end of the calendar year can provide you with tax benefits , while giving others the benefit of a life made more beautiful with music .
Maximize your year-end giving in one of these three ways or by speaking with your wealth advisor about a long or short-term gift to the BSO .
