An Academy to Remember
In June , 80 adult amateur musicians from 19 states traveled to Baltimore for a weeklong , side-by-side experience . Inspired by their experiences over one or up to ten years ( after a responsible hiatus , 2022 marked the 10th summer Academy ), many BSO Academy alumni made unsolicited donations . Several returning alumni made extraordinary in-kind and outright contributions to expand the Orchestra ’ s percussion collection including an upgrade from plastic to calfskin timpani heads .
