UCONN Academic Buildings
Storrs, Connecticut
Located in the heart of the flagship campus, this project
involved the construction of two academic buildings and
the realignment of Academic Way and Fairfield Way.
These two main pedestrian corridors were designed to
create safe, clear and meaningful campus connections
while bringing a heightened awareness of the natural
environment to the student population. The adjacent
regional landscape begins to weave itself into the heart
of an established academic campus, through both form
and planting. An extensive green roof can be seen from
third floor classrooms, open cell pavers are used along
major thoroughfares, and stormwater is directed into a
series of infiltration gardens setting a new standard for
sustainable growth on campus.
