With the freshmen frenzy settled, BSAY has had the chance to learn more about our new members and grow with our old members. Some of the highlights from the past weeks include: “Blackness Defined”: A Discussion During this productive discussion, several undergrads, grad students, and fellows gathered together to discuss perceptions, “definitions”, and experiences in black culture both within and outside of Yale. “Bridging the Divide”: Getting Involved in New Haven As joint event with the Yale Dems, BSAY discussed the role New Haven students play within New Haven in an effort to encourage and advise freshmen to who are interested in getting involved. Many thanks to Nia Holston and Joseph Goodman for sharing their experiences! New Haven Mayoral Forum: In an effort to inform students about the upcoming election, BSAY hosted a forum where community members and students were able to ask and tweet questions live.
