T
he Bryn Athyn College ice hockey team
has enjoyed considerable success in recent
years: league quarterfinals in 2012, league
champions in 2013, and in 2014, the team made
it to the league championship games. In 2015,
the team finished first in the regular league
season standings after winning every single game.
This feat was followed by a successful campaign
in the league playoffs that saw the team winning
the 2015 championships with ease. And then, the
icing on the cake: in February 2015 the team was
ranked #1 in the Atlantic Region of the American
Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division
3 for the first time in school history, and in
March 2015, they finished fourth in the ACHA
D3 national tournament in Alabama.
Ice hockey has been a staple of Bryn Athyn
athletics for a long time. The current hockey
program took its first steps in 1960. In 1967,
when Brian Schnarr joined the faculty, he took
charge of the program, elevating hockey to a
major sport at our institution. Several successful
seasons followed for the College team in the
seventies: the 1972 league
championship after an
undefeated season, third
