After the season a leading Philadelphia newspaper wrote: “A team like Bryn Athyn’s present aggregation is one of the greatest advertisements that a school could have.” A GLORIOUS HISTORY Ice hockey at Bryn Athyn in 1921 by Fredrik Bryntesson T he Bryn Athyn College ice hockey team has enjoyed considerable success in recent years: league quarterfinals in 2012, league champions in 2013, and in 2014, the team made it to the league championship games. In 2015, the team finished first in the regular league season standings after winning every single game. This feat was followed by a successful campaign in the league playoffs that saw the team winning the 2015 championships with ease. And then, the icing on the cake: in February 2015 the team was ranked #1 in the Atlantic Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 3 for the first time in school history, and in March 2015, they finished fourth in the ACHA D3 national tournament in Alabama. Ice hockey has been a staple of Bryn Athyn athletics for a long time. The current hockey program took its first steps in 1960. In 1967, when Brian Schnarr joined the faculty, he took charge of the program, elevating hockey to a major sport at our institution. Several successful seasons followed for the College team in the seventies: the 1972 league championship after an undefeated season, third President Brian Blair and Brian place in the league in 1973, and
