While the construction phase will have some impact on their navigation of the residence hall areas temporarily, most of the work will be done when our residents are off campus, and a whole new structure will be there when they return in August. We plan to provide fun opportunities for our current students to get involved in the process, such as a ground breaking party with fun giveaways...stay tuned for that!” As Director of Residence Life at Bryn Athyn College for the past 4 years, Lucas is a proponent for on-campus living and sees many benefits to being a resident student. She lists deep bonding, the development of conflict resolution skills, and learning the value of being a responsible member of a community as just some of the things that resident students gain from living here on site. What excites her most about the new residence halls is how they support this experience for the residents: “On-campus living adds to the overall college experience in ways that are not always completely obvious, but are central to student learning. I am excited about the opportunity to provide this to more students. I can’t wait to welcome first year students into this new space! Is it August yet?”
