CAMPUS LIFE Athletic Success in 2017-18 Teams who made it to Post-Season Play • Men’s Lacrosse (finals) • Women’s Lacrosse (semi-finals) • Women’s Soccer (semi-finals) • Women’s Tennis (semi-finals, with four players competing in the singles individual tournament) • Men’s Golf (8th place) • Women’s Cross-Country (8th place) • Men’s Cross-Country (11th place) The 2017-2018 year marked a new era for the Bryn Athyn College athletic program. Last summer the College became a full member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), paving the path for Bryn Athyn College athletes to compete on a wider scale. Field hockey became the College’s 14th varsity sport, with the women celebrating their first victory (10-0) over the College of Notre Dame. Men’s ice hockey also transitioned from a club team to Division III, winning their first game as an NCAA program member in November 2017. In addition, seven teams made it to NEAC championships in post-season play. This year, 20 student-athletes were named to all-NEAC teams, with many of them earning special recognition. Students excelled in the classroom as well, with 40 student- athletes making the dean’s list (with a grade point average of at least 3.5). Notable Athletes, Achievements, and Awards Our student-athletes continue to make the College proud with their talent, grit and sportsmanship. Below is a sampling of what some students have achieved.
