Dear Blue & Gold Banquet Graduates,
I want to extend a well deserved Congratulations on behalf of myself and the entire BHS community for graduating at
the top of your class. Your accomplishments speak for themselves. It is only fitting that we recognize in this special
way, the hard work and dedication that you have displayed to reach this point.
Being at the top of anything does not come without struggle. Each of you have your own story to tell. From
graduating early, to going to school all summer, there were things you gave up to achieve your goals. As a group you
have never chosen the easy way out, the path of least resistance. Instead you chose the path that challenged you,
that caused discomfort, that forced you to grow. You have endured setbacks and overcome. You have had success
and yet never rested. I hope that each of you look back on your journey at this point and can see now that it was all
worth it.
I have watched from the outside and been impressed with the talents each of you possess and have displayed over
the last few years, each in his or her own way. But over the past year as I was fortunate enough to have a front row
seat, I watched how each of you accepted opportunity, faced adversity, stood up to challenges and ultimately found
a way to succeed. You have been the pace setter for those who choose to follow. You have been the definition of
leaders.
Brownsboro High School is a better place because of you. But your job is not done, in fact it is just beginning. Your
families, this community, this country is counting on you. We are counting on you to continue to build on the traits
that have gotten you this far. We are counting on you to build lives that matter for yourself, while also looking out for
the greater good. You have positioned yourself to be the ones that others look to for guidance, motivation and
inspiration. We believe in you and will always be here cheering you on.
But for now, we say thank you for the mark you have left on each of us. The Class of 2020, top 10%, will not soon be
forgotten. CONGRATULATIONS!
GO BEARS!
