Coaches

Help has not been

scarce in the absence of

girls' Head Coach Cherisse

Thompson. Coaches, Dudley

Swann, Pugh and Bryant have

been driving forces behind the

success of both the girls and boys

teams. Coach Kenny Pugh, who was an

All-Academic Big Ten track and field athlete

at Ohio State University, has been working

with both teams for two years and says the best

part of the season has been being a part of the growth of each athlete. "I set goals for each athlete to start the season," he stated. "Seeing them achieve or exceed those goals is awesome!"

The biggest challenge for the coaches this year seems to have

been time. "We have a large number of new track athletes who

need additional coaching to get up to speed with fundamentals," says

Coach Pugh. "Pebblebrook is a very busy school, so finding additional

time to coach is definitely tough."

Like Coach Pugh, Coach Demitri Bryant has been instrumental in the overall

success of the team this season. He has worked with the team for the past four years and says his favorite event this season has been the Triple Jump. "Over the past 4 years we have had some great jumpers," he says. (cont.)
