CHAMPS
Mervin JAMES
I've been in these shoes for a long time.
The end of basketball season has come and now the Falcon men will be focusing on finishing the semester, prom, graduation and beginning the next level of their educational and athletic careers. With a record of 26-2, the 2017-18 team has set school and state records with their 24 game winning streak. The team has been described by journalists and evaluators as "a force to be reckoned with".
"People thought that we wouldn't have made it this far after graduating a McDonald's All American," says Coach Jonathan Brown, referring to 2017 graduate Collin Sexton. "This group right here was a special group of guys who came together, won 24 games in a row and are leaders all over the court." He says that this team is one of the best group of guys that he's coached and loved everything about them both on and off the court.
We're sure there have been many special moments for the Falcon men this season. Senior Kahlial Hawkins says it was being around his teammates. "My best part was just spending time with the team and building a bond with them," he stated. "The Chemistry we have has helped us grow as a team and family to win 24 games in a row.
Both Coach Washington and Brown are looking forward to their seniors going to Division I and II schools and continue to be great students and athletes and even greater men.
