& more!
The perfect blend of day camp and over-night camp. It runs for 3, 4 or 7-weeks, with many
extended overnight campouts throughout Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin (returning home
on weekends).
Activities
Learn independence, teamwork, self-confidence and responsibility by participating in setting
up camp, helping with chores, and cooking meals. Trips may include:
• Canoeing and camping in Wisconsin wilderness,
• Rock climbing at Devil’s Lake State Park,
• Whitewater rafting on the Wolf River,
• Surfing on Lake Michigan,
• Caving at Pop’s Cave or
• Scuba diving in Kankakee.
The 7-week camp features two overnight trips of 2 nights and four overnight trips of 4 nights.
Important Information
Campers are bused to campout locations. Campers must bring a sack lunch and beverage to
camp most days. On overnight trips the Park District provides the majority of meals. Campers
receive a t-shirt and water bottle on the first day of camp.
All OAC staff members are age 21 years or older and are certified in Red Cross first aid and CPR.
Ensuring campers safety is paramount at all times. Qualified instructors are used for various
activities such as rock climbing and kayaking. The camper to staff ratio is 7:1.
Outdoor Adventure Camp is the perfect first away-from-home camp for those who love the
outdoors and adventure!
