Remembering Lincoln:
A Digital Collection of Responses
to the Lincoln Assassination
Where were you on September 11, 2001? When the Space Shuttle Challenger
exploded? When President John F. Kennedy was assassinated? President
Abraham Lincoln’s assassination was a defining moment. Ford’s Theatre
brings together people’s responses to the Lincoln assassination in a digital
exhibition called Remembering Lincoln. For the first time in one place,
discover photos, letters, newspaper articles, mourning badges, diary entries
and more from the Americans whose lives were touched by the president’s
death and its aftermath. These unique items, some hidden for decades in
private collections, archives and museum collections, will be viewable online
from anywhere in the world.
Remembering Lincoln
launches in March 2015.
