IBC's opening Forum will give you insights into how four top broadcasters solve their particular challenges that include a highly competitive international news business, expanding specialist lifestyle challenges around Europe and outperforming rivals in the competitive Middle East pay television market.

Participants in the forum include:

Fran Unsworth, the first woman to run the BBC World Service, will enlighten attendees about using technology to expand during tight budget times and competition from well-funded competitors such as Russia Today and China Central Television.

David Butorac runs 146 pay TV channels in North Africa and the Middle East and will share his techniques for providing quality content and winning the competition.

Phillip Luff is the managing director of the UK and EMEA for Scripps Networks Interactive. He will explain how the Knoxville, Tennesee company is continuing its expansion across Europe, most recently by winning control of Poland's TVN.

Thomas Riedl, head of Android T Global Partnerships at Google in California, will join the discussion to discuss Google's latest forays into the TV market.

Ray Snoddy, Media Commentator and Journalist, will moderate the forum.
