A Shared Vision:
The Marriage Between MTV3 and Ericsson
A new media hub in Helsinki is a major enhancement of Finland’s media scene.
(MTV3 (not to be confused with the American cable channel MTV) is a leading broadcast station in Finland that features continual broadcasting of news and entertainment and is a member of the Bonnier Group, a Swedish media group owned by the Bonnier family. Recently, it has formed a professional alliance with Ericsson (A Swedish multinational Communications Tech and Services Company). The two corporations are undertaking a five-year agreement that will facilitate a media hub in the city of Helsinki, Finland, to service both the international and local communities. As part of this five year agreement, forty-five elite MTV3 broadcast professionals have transferred to this new media epicenter which Ericson has established.
Ericsson is a leader in establishing a globally networked society; the company has enjoyed long-term associations with almost every telecommunications operator on the planet. Indeed, the Ericsson vision seems to drive inexorably toward this future, an ambitious and logical goal for any communications firm. Over a third of mobile traffic in the entire world travels thru Ericsson networks, so finding solutions and advancing communications seems to be a prime motivator in this corporation.
