How you can help
If you live beside or near Broad leaf teatree woodlands, there are things you can do to help:
Remove weedy species from your property.
Don’ t dump garden waste in or at the edges of forest.
Keep stock away from remnant woodland.
Extend Broad leaf tea-tree woodland on your property through restoration planting.( Talk to your local landcare group.)
Limit tracks through the forest.
Avoid introduction of exotic pasture grasses, which can promote inappropriate fires and smother native groundcovers.
Note: Cool mosaic burning, planned and conducted with permits, is a necessary and natural conservation action for Broad leaf tea-tree woodlands.
Consider placing any Broad leaf teatree woodlands on your property under a voluntary conservation agreement.
