Relationships and why do we need them?
Are they really a necessity?
Or are we just so caught up in the mainstream idea of having to be with someone.
I know what you’re going to say. “She’s just bitter, or another angry black woman.”
Damn right I'm angry!
I'm angry because I'm tired of seeing my sisters just settling! Settling for circumstance, settling for convenience. Relationships are supposed to be a partnership that 2 people enter for a greater picture.
Let me break this down for you.
Partnership is 50/50 which means equalization. No more no less. Equals.
Contractual relationships are where both parties into an agreement and are solely in it to fulfill an agreement.
Soulmates are two people who were meant to be together.
These are just some of the relationships we see today, and they may work for some but not for others.
I'm just saying life is too short to be in a place where you’re wondering if the other person loves you.
Life is too short for your partner to abuse, belittle or degrade you.
One thing I've learned is if you let people treat you like shit, then that's all you will ever be treated like. Demand your respect, and you will be treated with such.
So many times, we feel we can’t do better than we already have.
Lies! Lies!
People, if you want to be better, you must be better.
Life is too short to just be settling for whatever we think is ok.
Its ok to want better.
A relationship is one of those things we should never just settle. Everyone wants that fairy tale love but, it doesn’t exist. Sorry!
But the dream of it does.
When your partner truly loves and cares for you, it can make you feel like a queen or king.
In life we try to control every aspect, especially, when love is involved.
You can’t control who you fall in with, but you can control how they treat you.
Staying in a relationship for all the wrong reasons can be detrimental.
No, there are no guarantees, but I can guarantee that if you love yourself more than anyone else you'll be the happiest person in the world.
