CITB backs construction-specific deaf awareness and hearing loss training
The Construction Industry Training Board( CITB) is supporting the development of a constructionspecific deaf awareness and hearing loss training programme aimed at improving safety and inclusion across the industry.
CITB is working with Bovis, RNID, Unseen Aware, Safety in Design and Heathrow on the initiative, which is being funded through CITB’ s Industry Impact Fund.
The pilot programme will initially train at least 500 people across a number of construction organisations, with participating companies delivering the training at site level and through their supply chains.
Companies involved in the pilot include Bovis, Sir Robert McAlpine, Graham Builders, Kier, Wates, Ferrovial Construction Holdings Limited, Volker FitzPatrick, Mace and Costain Group.
