Welcome everyone to the Capitals season opener
for QBL19. It seems like a long time since the Caps
Men closed the 2018 season in dramatic fashion in
Townsville - almost a miraculous down at half time
22 point comeback in the semi-final!!! Anyway that
was last season and we have moved on with some
changes, 2019 sees Sam Mackinnon taking the head
coach role for the men and some new faces Will
Magnay, Jason Cadee and Ben Volkman along with
some of our regulars Anthony Kopcikas, Jake Davis
and Zac Carter. It is also great to welcome back some
of our juniors Stefano di Iorio, Lachlan Venus, Nick
Stoddard and Cobby Wilson, plus, we are also pleased
to welcome back to Australia Aaron Anderson fresh
from some time in Europe playing in Kosovo.
The Women have also revamped their program under
the direction of Bronwyn Marshall with a lot of new
faces, we welcome Francis Donders along with our
regulars Madie Woodford, Emma Read, Raquel Spies
and Karissa Grigg and acknowledge Audrey Fuller
and Georgia Woolley two promising juniors making
the formal QBL debut. We also welcome from other
programs Georgia Fagan, Sherridan Wilson and Abi
Marsh, Emma Glen and Stacey Howard welcome back
to Auchenflower, and then, within the next few weeks
to complete the team roster Shanavia Dowdell from
her playoffs in Europe.
