To the left and below are the final set of adjacency diagrams,
which demonstrate my design intent and approach to the
new project proposal for the site. The approach shows
the spaces that neighbour each other and the how much
space each section will roughly take up. The next steps will
be making these spaces come to life through structure and
thought out design.
FIRST FLOOR PLAN
The ground and first floor in the nave of the church
will remain mostly open plan with it being primarily
the hospitality space. With WC’s, a teaching kitchen.
cafe and a large dining area, this space will be
open to the public to allow social interaction with
young adults with ASD, benefitting each persons
development. The chancel of the church being the
back area will be strictly for registered young adults
with ASD. It will be designed around a mock up
house, having separate spaces to go to learn social
and educational skills , teaching them how to live
independently after leaving school.
