THE STARTING POINT
READĀ FOR
THE
RECORD
DAY
Bridge Foundation's entry into the Guayaguayare R.C. School
occurred on Jumpstart Read for the Record Day in October ,a
very special day for many schools around the country. Read to
Rise early beginning and motivation to expand to a yearlong
programme was based on the enthusiastic response of schools
on Read for the Record Day in Trinidad and Tobago.
Read for the Record Day is a global celebration of reading,
where children around the world receive a Jumpstart selected
book sit in diverse classrooms from Thailand, Singapore, United
States to Japan reading a Jumpstart selected book and diligent
schools send their records back to Jumpstart USA.
In Trinidad and Tobago, the halls of Guayaguayare R.C. School
and in other paticipating schools, scores of children joined
Bridge Foundation to support Jumpstart's Read for the Record
day. Bridge Foundation on that day complements the Jumpstart
book with Caribbean books and schools response further
increased. Schools' participation has increased from 9,000 to
over 80,000 over the years.
