Hello fellow lushes! The Christmas( yes, I said Christmas I believe in a God. If you don ' t, go have your " Holiday " party somewhere else!). This year ' s party was another blast. Numerous craft beers were exchanged and a good time had by all into the evening! Thank you Mark and Lori for hosting and to all who donated items for the auction. I want to thank Schells Brewery for the 150th mirror they donated. It was won by some lucky bastard who belongs to The Border Batch. It was probably rigged! We could use more old beer for the tasting next year. Please keep this in mind when you go to auctions and garage sales this summer.
The cook books proved to be a huge success. Thanks to the fairer sex of our club for the idea, the work, and the follow through to git-r-done. To all you nay-sayers who said it wouldn ' t work, you are now banned from making any decisions from this day foward. I admire people who will try anything. I hate people who say, " You can ' t do that." Barry Travis, kudos on the cover!
A reminder to those of you who didn ' t get a chance to pay your fun-fee " dues " at the party, please send them in or we will be forced to send out the muscle to collect it. I ' ve been to a lot of places in the world and have yet to find a place where you can have as good of a time as we do for 10 bucks a year. I tried it in Amsterdam and it cost me $ 256 for the first 30 minutes!
Our spring meeting will be hosted by Ben Malloy in Cambria on Sat. March 3rd @ his home. Cambria ' s Prerie Bach( restaurant / bar) will be open that day. You may want to ask the owner if the huge Schells sign out front is for sale. I ' ve been trying for years. Between that one and the one at the Klossner house. There ' s a price for everything and my price is never high enough I guess! As always, bring a dish to pass.
I look forward to my year stint as chapter President and hope to come up with new ideas and lead the members( motley crew) into a fun 2012! I would like to get a bus trip together, maybe to Lucan? Any ideas, let me know.
I had my first Bock of the season at the bowling alley in New Ulm on Dec. 21st. Good, better yet it only cost me. 10. They have pull tabs out there every day between 3 and 6.
Quote of the newsletter, " When a man talks dirty to a women, it ' s sexual harassment. When a woman does it, it costs $ 3.99 a minute."
