So it looks like we finally made it through one nasty winter.
Upside is we probably won’t have to shovel any more snow but
the other side of the coin says to get ready for the monsoon
season. As long as the brewery doesn’t flood out we are good.
Got some things going on for the spring and summer on a local
level, first being the Spring Ding at the Schell’s Brewery on April
28Th. Always a fun time no matter what the weather does for
the day so we will see you there. Should be a little beer to drink,
a little trading going on and lunch and a short meeting to name
a few of the activities. Please bring along an excess item or two
from your collection for the raffle.
Exploring the possibility of another show at the Hauenstein
Brewery in conjunction with Hermanfest. Had a good time at
last years and it sure appeared that a lot of merchandise
changed hands that day. Dave Harmening was a very gracious
host and hopefully we get to do it again.
Sometime this summer I
would like to organize a paint
crew to put a coat or two on
the wagon we use for
Stubiefest and the Parade of
Lights. Anyone with an
interest in helping with that
please let me know.
Enough about business. One of my daughters recently finished
a section of her basement off into a nice play room. The walls
looked a little bare and old dad saw a perfect place to put some
breweriana on display. Dug through some of my stuff and found
a few pieces that I thought would look good there and put
them “on loan”. Might just be the first spark to get a brand new
collector fired up for the hobby. Need some folks to pick up the
torch after our generation has gone to the big beer garden in
the sky - might as well start now right ?
Until next time - carry on and drink wisely.
