Hello Fellow Borderbatchers, Tim Tanley here. If some of you
don’t know, I’ve been elected as your club president for 2016
and have enjoyed being a member of this fine club for some
time now. (Editors note: he went to the bathroom and got
elected while he was away)
Here I am enjoying a cold beer and good conversation at
“Thirsty Thursday” in the shop of Ted Stueber “The Stubie on
the Right” while drafting my first newsletter. It’s always a good
time here. You just never know who might stop by.
First of all I would like to thank the outgoing president Dan
Stueber, “The Stubie on the Left” for the fine job he did in 2015.
The club tried something new this year. A float was entered in
the New Ulm Christmas Parade of Lights. This parade was held
the Friday evening after Thanksgiving. The float looked great
with all the beer signs and colored lights. A special guest on the
float was the “Hamms’s Bear”. Does anyone know who that was
in that suit? Many members helped by donating the truck,
wagon, signs, lights, and time. Thanks to everyone who helped
in anyway to make our entry in the parade a success. Looking
forward to next years’s parade.
Thanks again to Mark and Lori for hosting the Christmas Party
this year at their home. After that The B&L Bar also provided a
fun place for us to hold the auction and raffle. Thanks to Dave
V. for the signs that were auctioned and everyone else who
donated their time and efforts that day. Also, Gary S. and Dave
W. did a great job again organizing the raffle ticket sales. If you
have not attended the Christmas Party in awhile, I urge you to
come, you’ll enjoy it.
In closing I just want to say that I am looking forward to another
event filled year with my fellow club members.
