BeerFest, BS, and pretzels? That was the name of the game one overcast day
in June. Algona s 2nd annual BeerFest took place on June 7th, the Border
Batch was asked if we would like to set up a booth to promote the hobby and
sell some breweriana. Several of us jumped on board this opportunity and had
one heck of a great time. Before taking part in this great BeerFest, several of us
gathered for a brief chapter meeting. Those in attendance were Jay and Teri
Martin, Tom and Judy Terwilliger, Steve and Sue Miner, Murray Srock, Pat Sifert,
and Mark Walker. There were only a nine of us in attendance but items
discussed were the Schell s show in the spring. Some members had expressed
that
they would like the show moved to another date. After looking at the calendar,
we found that moving the show to a later date would run into quite a few shows around the area and
would make it difficult for our members to attend these bigger shows, while still wanting to support their local
chapter. Also we would be running into Schell s own events that they have at the brewery on Sundays during
